This devotional is about friendship, and Emma and I mutually decided on that, because of us realising how lucky we are to have each other as friends. Sure, we have our arguments, but what friends don’t? No matter what though, we stick by each other, through the good times, and the struggles. Do you have a friend like that, one that will never leave you for someone else? Did you know that the word “friend” is mentioned 49 times in the Bible?

Proverbs 18:24 A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
So all those popular people, if they have many so called friends, who would leave them for someone else, and think they’re better than everyone else, could very easily end up alone. On the other hand, if you have a few, good, true friends, who stick by you, then you’re never alone.
Friends are always there to help you up when you fall. Real friends are anyway. And they stand up for you when they need to, they’re always there for a hug too.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work:
If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

The Lord Jesus is our friend too. He loves us, and laid down his life for us. Is that not real, true friendship?
John 15:12-15 This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatever I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you.
How awesome is that? Jesus is our friend, and all we have to do to keep his friendship is do what he tells us.

So, go out today, see your friends, your real, true friends. Go and show them you love them, do something for them, anything, tell them why they mean so much to you. Let them know you care
